In memory of Lazyyyyyyy: Hong Konger, Citizen Investigator, Friend.

光復香港, 時代革命

香港/ 2019年

Lazyyyyyyy began her contributions to Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement in 2019. Although she resided abroad, Hong Kong was her home. A deep love for the city and its people led her to investigating protest incidents and sharing reporting and analyses of events, legislation, so called "legislation", politics, and activism on Twitter with the iconic seven Ys.

831 太子/ 2019 年

Lazyyyyyyy had a nuanced understanding of Hong Kong’s events like few others. On August 31, Hong Kong Police stormed Prince Edward Station, brutally beating protestors and non-protestors alike. A month later Lazyyyyyyy joined Twitter to appeal for help for Hong Kongers. As time went on she shared insightful analyses of the protest movement. Lazyyyyyyy’s explanations of 831, 721, and other crucial events provided unparalleled insight into the pro-democracy movement and the real life consequences of the People’s Republic of China’s iron fist approach to Hong Kong politics and society.

In May 2021 Lazyyyyyyy passed away. To those who knew her, she was a friend who put others before herself. She was witty and empathetic in equal measure. She is dearly missed. She fought for the little good that is left in this world. Her contributions, both personal and professional, have made a lasting impact to all those affected by the occupation of Hong Kong. A prolific contributor on Twitter, Lazyyyyyyy’s investigative work and analysis provided insight and context on China and Hong Kong that few others had.

The goal of this website is to honour Lazyyyyyyy’s memory by giving her words and ideas their deserved space.
